About the Educator
Beth Karzes is a credentialed elementary education teacher with 10 years of experience teaching kindergarten through high school age students. She uses curriculum based programs that meet the California State Teaching Standards, and has created an in-depth humane education program at the Humane Society. Beth currently serves on the national Board of A.P.H.E. (Association of Professional Humane Educators) and has been a member since 2005. She is actively involved with the Sonoma County Office of Education (SCOE), and offers her humane education program to all school districts in Sonoma County. Beth also mentors teens in the Animal Welfare Apprentice program, teaching them important career skills and animal welfare practices. Beth’s teachings encourage the bond between animals and children, thus creating a future generation of compassionate animal caregivers.
